Wyre Forest Canoe Club (WFCC)
The Wyre Forest Canoe Club is a long established and dynamic canoe & kayaking club with approaching 100 members. Club facilities with changing rooms etc are adjacent to the river Severn in Bewdley, Worcestershire.
The primary aim of the WFCC is to promote recreational canoeing and kayaking while providing maximum enjoyment in a safety aware environment.

The WFCC has a number of qualified BCU coaches available to all members who provide introductory sessions for those wishing to try the sport for the first time. Club coaches also train and assess paddlers who wish to progress through the BCU “Star” award scheme. Sessions are held on Friday evenings throughout the Summer months and occasionally at the Wyre Forest Glades pool during the Winter. We also engage professional coaches from time to time to provide for specialised training such as First Aid and Safety & Rescue.
The WFCC maintains an extensive range of modern equipment for members use. This includes safety gear, paddles, canoes and kayaks of various types and sizes including small kayaks suitable for youngsters. We cater for all ages and abilities.
In addition to the Friday evening sessions we organise outings to a variety of UK rivers and coastal locations (see events page). These are designed to cater for all abilities from flat water up to grade 3/4 whitewater and surf. We also enjoy an amazing social scene with "alternative" events such as Beer & Skittles, Karting and bike rides in the nearby Wyre forest.
A newsletter, which gives information about the club activities and also includes reports on recent paddles, is distributed quarterly. We are always interested to hear what the new canoeist has to say and would welcome articles for inclusion in the newsletter.
The WFCC has charity status (no 1111262). This is advantageous to the club as it helps us with grant applications to certain organisations. Members are asked to print off and complete the Gift Aid Form and send it back to the club or hand it in at a club session. (Press 'cancel' at the password window)
